NHS North East London GP and practice staff bulletin: 19 May 2023

NHS England has informed us that the NHS would be stepping down the COVID-19 response from NHS level 3 incident and has sent their thanks to you and your teams for the outstanding efforts to deal with the impact of this health emergency.
They have also announced the start of this London-wide catch-up campaign for polio and measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccinations for unvaccinated or partially vaccinated children aged 1 to 11 years old. Last week NHSE wrote to you about this catch up campaign. Read this article for the latest NEL info. We will be launching publicly next week and school age catch up clinics will start on 27 May for half term.
As you know the spring Covid-19 booster campaign is running at the moment. One of the main eligible cohorts is people who are immunosuppressed. However uptake in this group is very low (9%).
We are concerned some people who are immunosuppressed are eligible but unaware that it applies to them so we’ve created posters and digital screens of which we would be grateful if you could display at your practices and upload onto your digital screen where possible.
Please remember to continue to use the Chrome browser to open the links to the articles.
Thank you for all your current efforts and your continued dedication to our patients and support for each other.
