About the Service:

The Health Visiting service is offered to all mothers, from when they have conceived a child to when the child is 5 years old .

Waltham Forest Family health centres-Clinic Timetable

THGPCG 0-19 Waltham Forest -Toilet training and Children’s Continence Service-Tier 1

Eligibility/Age Criteria:

Provides basic advice to promote healthy bladder and bowel habits for children under age 5. This includes guidance on fluid intake, dietary advice, and initial support for issues such as nocturnal enuresis, constipation, and toilet training difficulties. Families are provided with resources including ERIC and Bladder & Bowel parent/child leaflets, fluid diaries, and advice on establishing toileting routines.

Referral Information:

Health Visitors → Support early toilet training, provide relevant resources, and refer to Lloyd Park if issues remain unresolved.

School Nurses → Deliver Tier 1 continence support for school-aged children.

Complex or unresolved cases → Escalate to NELFT Specialist Continence Nurse and to the GP.

  • GPs can refer into the 0–19 Service for Health Visiting and School Nursing support.
  • Referrals can be emailed via the Single Point of Access (SPA).

service helps marginalised and ‘seldom heard’ young people and families get access to support and advice

Eligibility/Age Criteria
– Must be a resident in Waltham Forest
– Young adult up to the age of 19 – Adults above the age of 19 must have dependents
– Willing to engage with services

Family Nurse Partnership For Young Parents –
A home visiting programme for first-time young parents and their families

Eligibility/Age Criteria

-Living in Waltham Forest

-Pregnant with your first child and within the first 28 weeks of pregnancy

-Aged 24 Years and under

Referral Information:

You can refer yourself to the Waltham Forest FNP programme by either: 

-Filling in the self-referral form 

-Speaking to your midwife or GP 

-Calling the Waltham Forest FNP team on 0204 534 4132 or 07718422692.
